Using Tabs
One of the things consumes a lot of time is switching from the different parts of Joomla. Each page needs to be loaded. Even with a good Internet connection you may find yourself waiting for the next screen more than you do the actual work. So here is a useful tip:
Whether you are using Internet Explorer 7 (and up) or Mozilla Firefox, you will have the ability to make use of TABS.
Login to your site. Your screen should look something like the image below.

Click on the new TAB creator as shown by the arrow below.

.In the new TAB that your browser has open, select your bookmark/favorite link you created. If you do not have a bookmark/favorite created. Type your administrator link again and create a bookmark/favorite for future use.
You should now have two tabs viewing the Joomla Administrator as shown below.
Method 2 - step 1
You can also follow any link in your administrator menu or control panel, but instead of doing a LEFT-CLICK, do a RIGHT-click and select “OPEN LINK IN NEW TAB”
Method 3 - step 1
I suggest that you have at least two or three tabs that point to your administrator if you plan to work a while.
I usually have a tab pointing to the menu system, a tab pointing to the Article Manager and a last tab to do other things.
Last of all you need to view what you have done. Click on the preview link at the top right corner of your administrator. If you browser is correctly configured as shown in Setting up Your System, your website will open up in a new TAB automatically.
